There are few things better than spending a crisp fall day outside taking pictures of two people in love. I actually wake up the morning of an engagement session and get so excited to go to the shoot. That’s when you know you’ve chosen the right career path in life. :)
Our style of journalistic engagement photography means that our photo sessions feel more like taking a walk through the woods at sunset than work. Aside from the faint noise a clicking camera shutter, at the end of the shoot our couples always say something like, “Wow, that was so easy!”.
Chuck and Maggie decided on an October engagement session at Stephen’s Lake Park in Columbia, MO. We love this woodsy yet open park near downtown Columbia. This location also had sentimental meaning for Chuck and Maggie. They got engaged on the bench pictured below!
There are so many great spots for nature-inspired photography at this park–winding paths, woodsy backdrops, and of course the lake. Thanks to Chuck and Maggie for spending the evening with us… we are looking forward to their wedding at the Old Hawthorne this summer!
