As a Missouri backyard wedding photographer, Tracey and Chuck’s wedding in St. James was right up our alley! We loved all of the unique details at this wedding. From Tracey’s embroidered wedding dress to the handpicked wildflower bouquets, this wedding day was bursting with color.
When Tracey first reached out to us, it was clear that quality photography was a priority for her. Tracey and Chuck were inviting friends and family from near and far for this important day, and they really wanted great photos to remember the day by.

More about this Missouri backyard wedding:
In a way, Tracey and Chuck’s wedding felt more like a fairy tale than real life. These two met 30 years ago, while they were both in the military. They began as close friends, and after having been through several other romantic relationships in their individual lives, Facebook brought them together in the spring of 2016! Chuck reached out to Tracey and when they reconnected, they knew it was something special.
Tracey and Chuck’s backyard wedding was held on their property in southern Missouri–near St. James. They purchased the land and the cabin last spring as part of their retirement dream. It was truly the perfect place to host their wedding. Surrounded by friends and family they said their vows and made it official!
Even with Missouri’s warm weather, guests stayed cool with snow cones and industrial fans. We loved the idea of having board games on hand for everyone to enjoy during the cocktail hour. One of my favorite things about this wedding was all of the colorful details! The bride wore a dress embroidered with colors; the bridesmaids wore a variety of dresses in jewel tone hues; even the wedding rings were colorful! As a photographer, color and light are high on our list of favorite things. In a typical wedding world with too much black and white, this wedding was so intensely refreshing to document!
Congratulations to Tracey and Chuck. You deserve a world of happiness, and I know you’ll find it in each other and the decades ahead!
